Abbi + Merritt’s Taft Point Elopement

Yosemite National Park is an absolute wonder. Despite its intense popularity, it remains a wild, surreal landscape. If you’ve ever been to Yosemite, you probably understand the feeling of looking up in awe at the massive granite walls towering above you, reaching impossibly high into the sky. There is just something special about this place.

For Abi and Merritt’s elopement, we decided to hike out to Taft Point, a cliff edge overlooking Yosemite Valley 3,000 ft. below. Peering over the edge of the granite rocks is a dizzying, exhilarating experience. I can’t think of a more powerful, awe inspiring landscape to say your vows, and commit your life to your person.

After exploring the area, and choosing the perfect rock ledge for their ceremony, Abi and Merritt read their vows to each other. We then spent the rest of the evening exploring the cliffside, and taking in the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen. Yosemite really pulled out all the stops for these two.
